"small" things
So today, a little after I worked out that my computer could indeed handle a faster internet, I called my internet provider, and, long story short, they were able to bump up my internet speed to their premium package for a year at no extra cost to me. Indeed, I'm saving a couple of dollars per month over what I had been paying, and I can already see the benefit as the internet runs faster on my machine now, saving time. I mention this because, sometimes (actually, more often than we have any idea, I think), God wants to bless us with a little something extra. Like calling the internet provider at a time when they're running a promotion that essentially makes me able to have my cake and eat it, too, at least for a year. It seems like a small thing, paying overall less for my internet and stuff while getting it enhanced, but life is made up of lots of small things in addition to the medium- and large-size things, isn't it? God. The Great Coordinator.

exceeded expectations
I've been listening to a Keith Moore series on prosperity called "Prosperity Proven", and he mentioned that his church held up a list of things they wanted to get done through giving, sowing and reaping. Then he asked if people had checked off any stuff since they'd held up that list, and some had. So I began thinking of what stuff I'd checked off my dream list that I'd drawn up a year or two ago, and I didn't think anything had been. Now, understand that I asked for some pretty big stuff, and these things take time. But. But...I thought of the car that I asked for--I originally chose to believe for a more expensive car, but I downgraded that for the time being to a good, reliable used car of a specific type and model. And for a while, I could see myself a little disappointed that the car I have now is not as big as that one I'd believed for. But God showed me that He actually upgraded me. Instead of an '02 model, I got an '05 model, smaller, better on gas and more reliable than the one for which I'd been believing. I even think it might be a little more fun and certainly cheaper to own. Frankly, it's the best car on the market for the money.
Sometimes it takes a while to realize how much God's blessed me.

surprising and encouraging
Okay, so I went to this film festival this weekend where some stuff was playing that had me in it. And I gotta say, even though it was great to have people come up and tell me how well I did, and I look forward to a lot more of this at higher and higher levels, it still paled in comparison to getting to sing with the choir at church this weekend and help lead people in worship. Now, I'm an actor, and that's what I'm to do, but such an honor to be in a position where God uses me, and the whole worship team, to help draw people in closer to Him. It is a sacred privilege.
I think here's the point: if it's about me, it's less satisfying than if it's about God, and I love that. This way, I can receive compliments about acting and stuff and still keep it in perspective: God uses me and the talents He gave me to touch people, and I get, among other things, the benefit of it being a real kick to do so.

My interview
Interview here.
Click on "last show archive" and scroll to about 1/2-1/3 of an inch from the end of the show. You'll see the host, a blonde lady, along with six guys, and I'm on the left. It's only showing until this evening, so get there quick.

Well, now I'm hooked
Friday I did my first sort-of TV interview. Exciting and a lot of fun. Friday night I got to see a movie I wrote and starred in play at a local festival. And many of those involved saw it with me. And the audience clapped, really clapped, at the end of it. And people who have no reason to coddle me told me it was good.
I don’t know that I’ve ever felt so humble, so bashful, as at the great response to this film. It’s just a short film, but it’s the beginning...
I thank the people involved with this.
And I thank and praise God, who's done so much for me, for doing this.
And I want more.
