Joseph

Is it just me, or is it kind of amazing the heights to which God raised Joseph from when he was thrown into that cistern?

knowledge

Today, I thank God for knowledge. Thanks, Father.

By the way, in case anybody wonders, I don't think the only way God will hear me is through this blog. :) This is just public acknowledgement, giving credit where it's due and sharing my gratitude.

Today, I thank God for my job. It helps pay the bills, it's not ditch-digging, I like it and it's stable. Thanks, Father.

Today, I thank God for reminding me to have my "yes" be "yes" and my "no", "no". Thanks, Father.

article

One of the best articles I've ever read. Great for Christians in the entertainment industry:

today

Today, I thank God most for, again, His timing and arranging. Woke up to a ministry I support calling to thank me and offer prayer, thought I'd miss the message at church and got there just about as the spoken part (after worship) was starting and had a great, productive day otherwise capped off by a nice burger on lettuce and spending time with family. Thanks, Father. Nicely done.

Today, I thank God most for an "old" friend of mine (nearly 20 years) whom I talked to just a little bit ago. Thanks, Father.

Today, I thank God that I'm in better physical shape at 40 than I was at 30. Thanks, Father.

Monday, 9 August 2010

friends

Today, I'm most grateful for my salvation. That's a given every day. Also, I'm always grateful for old friends and family. Aside from that, I'm also grateful for the support of my friends here in Tulsa, or that I've met while here in Tulsa. I don't believe in happenstance or randomness, but I do believe God brings people together. I thank God for bring me together with these people. Thanks, Father.

alteration

Decided today to go back to what I originally wanted to do with the gratitude blog thing: thank God for ten things a day in one post. Not a bunch of posts. :) I was getting pretty religious about it and it showed. Anyway, this oughtta make things easier. Maybe even just thank God for one thing a day--the one thing I'm most grateful for...(and of course I realize that it doesn't take Facebook to thank God). Thanks, Father, for the insight.

intake

I ate worse than expected this weekend, but I still weigh less than I thought I would--glory to God! Still need to watch the intake, though. Again, thanks, Father.

"Shattered"

Script for "Shattered", first draft anyway, is done! Praise God! And it is actually kind of sweet...thank You, Father, for an ending I didn't expect.

half a life

If you only half-live, you live only half a life. Thanks for showing me that, Father.

live

Just realized one of my main problems, a thing holding me back: I hold back--always holding something in reserve. This is no way to live. I thank God for showing me that. :-)

Worked my lats yesterday. They hurt today. Yeah! Thanks, Father, for the coming growth!

Today I decided I need to rely more on non-meat sources of protein. Thanks for decision, Father.

hacked

I thank God I don't go around quite as hacked-off all the time as I used to. The love of God does that for me when I let it. Thanks for that, Father.

wrasslin'

I also thank God for full episodes of TNA Impact! online. :) Like watching the old WCW. Thanks, Father

thanks

Today, I thank God for being God. Also for rest, a very calm day (after the workout), plenty of food, resources, friends, connections and, okay, pretty girls. Now, if I just knew how to talk to them...I thank God in advance for that knowledge. Funny how I never thought to ask Him for that knowledge...Thanks, Father. :)

good point

Good point brought up by Kenneth Copeland on "The Believer's Voice of Victory": God is in control, but are you in His control? Thanks, Father, for bringing that up.

done

I thank God that the final day of principal photography on "Commitment" is done as of yesterday. Well-done, guys. And, as ever, thanks, Father.

promise of God

Ever just taken Psalm 23:1 by itself and thought about it--gotten a glimmering of how much that means exclusive of the rest of the chapter? Wow. That's one promise of God I'm definitely holding onto! Thanks, Father!

healing

Today, I thank God for healing. And rest. Thanks, Father.

more divine favor

I'm grateful to God for more divine favor. Thanks, Father! :)

Sunday, 1 August 2010

boss

I also thank God for favor with my boss. :)

witness

Just listening to "The Believer's Voice of Victory", and Gloria Copeland mentioned something about the Word (Bible) being a witness, and I got it. If you need a witness as in something to verify the truth, go to the Word. Which is one of the reasons we need to know the Word very well. Thanks, Father, for the Copelands and their ministry and for increased understanding.

Psalm 27:14

I like this verse--I take it as my verse for the day: Psalm 27:14: "Wait for the LORD, be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD" (NIV). It seems at first a little off-putting, perhaps, but when you consider what it's saying, it doesn't just leave you out there twisting in the wind. It prescribes HOW to wait for the LORD (I'm doing caps there because in the OT it's in those caps--roughly). I thank God for having me read that chapter over after I'd glossed over it. Great stuff. Thanks, Father.

prayer journal entry

Here's my prayer journal entry for today after reading Psalm 27:

Ps. 27:14-- "Wait for the LORD, be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Summation of the chapter?

Dear Sean,

In whatever circumstance, call upon Me. I am here. I am there. I will answer. I am not across the universe and it'll take Me a minute to get there. I am across the universe _and_ in you. I am already where you are. Even if I weren't, what is time to Me? I could be there.

The messengers sometimes get clogged up and delayed--have faith. Keep believing--your faith is fuel to them. Don't run them out of gas.

love, God

understanding

I'm continually amazed by how understanding God is...Thanks for understanding, and for giving me understanding, Father.
