Memorial Day

Today, I thank God for the sacrifice of others to maintain my freedom. Thank You, Father.

Christian

Glory to God! I found out recently that somebody whom I know and love and thought was not a Christian may in face be one. Praise You, Father. :-)

good stuff

Today, I thank God for all the good stuff that happened Friday. Found out I'll be getting more money sooner from one source and got a good line on a full-time job, plus a co-worker asked if I would work for him, which means more money for me. Thanks, Father. :-)

pieces clicking into place

Glory to God! Just had an encounter not too long ago with a friend, and in the conversation, God showed ma couple of important things regarding doing His will, following the calling on my life. I'm more sure now than ever of what I need to do, part of which is to get busy and get to work. Looking back on things, I can see God's hand on me, and in the present, things are clicking into place. Praise God!

Got told about a great Christian comedian: Tim Hawkins. I thank God that Christian comedy is just as funny, if not funnier than, secular comedy. So now there's Christian metal that's on par with secular and Christian comedy that's also on par with secular. THANK YOU, FATHER!!!

fight

Something I feel like God shared with me a little bit ago: fighting sin is like being in a prizefight: you don't sit and dwell on it each time you get hit; you hit back. Thanks, Father.

laugh

One of the things I'm grateful to God for: the ability to make people laugh. Thanks, Father. :-)

opportunities

Today, I thank God for opportunities. So long as I am alive on this earth, there's a chance (and things get even better once we who are His pass on). Thanks, Father.

love

I kept asking God to renew my mind, help me be less judgmental--God straightened me out: I just asked Him to help me love people. Thanks, Father.

another great thing

Options. Another thing for which I thank God is options that the Holy Spirit presents--stuff of which I would not have thought. Thanks, Father.

God's timing

One thing that God pointed out to me that consistently amazes me and that I'm thankful to Him for is His timing. I can argue all I want, but it's perfect. Thanks, Father.

crying

Watching "Deadliest Catch", a beloved captain of one of the boats passed on--God reminded me that it's okay for a man to cry. Jesus did. Crying and being a man are not mutually exclusive.

Today, I thank God that He's blessed me with a couple of job interviews to go to, and for the guidance that led to these interviews. Thanks, Father.

Today, I thank and praise God that most of the "bigger" stuff I've been in you can actually see me in--that's the favor of God! Thanks, Father, for Your favor.

God's abundant provision

Today, I thank God for His abundant provision. Thanks, Father. :-)

phone

God is so good. He arranged it so I found out I could remove the data portion of my phone plan and just have voice and texting (I hardly use data anyway, or it's not really worth it when I do). That's a $25.00 savings, an I can still connect via wi-fi if I like. Thanks, Father, for this and for having this turn out better than I'd thought.

parking lot/provision

Well, glory to God! My apartment complex put a sign up in front of my apartment designating a parking space as reserved for me because I've been here five years (longer, actually, by the grace of God-- all thanks and glory to Him). What a nice gesture--and it's my favorite spot. God has kept me provided for, and more. Thanks, Father! :-)

Mother's Day

I put this on my FaceBook, and I felt like God would like me to put it here, too:

Happy Mother's day to all the mothers out there. I hope you know how loved and appreciated you are and how happy God is to have you, one of His precious children, be the mother to another one of His precious children. If they have any sense, your children have no idea how much and how very, very deeply they love and appreciate you (I know I didn't, thought I have some idea now, thank God).

crutch

Today, I thank God that I don't have a religion crutch; I have Jesus. (taken from a message delivered by Joe McGee here. ) Thanks, Father.

taken to school

God just took me to school on this. People, don't crab and whine and moan and talk ugly about the company for whom you work. God WILL NOT bless that. Instead, pray for them (guidance for them, blessing, etc.) He just showed me, in a way I can't argue, that that's one reason I got laid off awhile back--He'd been trying to tell me, and I knew it was wrong, but I did it anyway, and there it is. Now, He is mighty, and I am under His grace, and He's taking care of me, but the principle is there. Wow. Thank You, Father, for the lesson.

the Holy Spirit

Today, I thank God for what sensitivity to the Holy Spirit I have. Now to actually follow what He says. The better I listen, the better I'll hear and understand. Thanks, Father.

September 1, 2011

September 1, 2011 is coming up. It's when I will be in L.A. Permanently (for now). I wonder how I'll get the money for it, but I am not worried about it as much as I used to be. I just turn it over to God and do the best I can to watch what I spend in the meantime and take advantage of the opportunities as God presents them to me.
